The Secretariat supports OCIMF’s work by coordinating inputs from Functional Committees and Expert Groups and maintaining OCIMF’s Prioritisation Matrix and bowtie risk-assessment methodology. These frameworks support member-led decision-making and are reviewed and endorsed through the Principal Committees.
The Prioritisation Matrix helps decide where to focus effort by assessing industry risks in terms of potential impact and likely frequency. Work is then progressed through the relevant Functional Committees and Expert Groups to develop publications, programmes or advocacy outputs that deliver practical safety outcomes. In addition to supporting the Executive Committee (ExCom) and the committee structure, the Secretariat also represents OCIMF and its membership at the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
