OCIMF’s strategy focusses all activities around four principal areas of publications, advocacy, programmes and membership collaboration.

Vision and Mission

OCIMF brings the maritime energy industry together around a shared commitment to safety. We draw on expertise from our members and industry partners to build shared understanding and convert experience from real operations into practical guidance.

We support continual improvement in safety, security, environmental performance and wellbeing by providing a member-led forum that unites people to drive maritime safety and helps ensure the energy sector can keep pace with changing risks and operating conditions.

Vision

A global marine industry that causes no harm to people or the environment.

Mission

United in purpose to drive maritime safety in the energy sector.

To bring the maritime energy industry together to drive safe, secure and environmentally responsible operations across the safe handling and transport by vessel of crude oil, oil products, petrochemicals, gas and emerging fuels, including terminal interfaces, and across related offshore maritime operations.

OCIMF achieves this by convening member expertise to learn and develop evidence-led best practice guidance, safety information and programmes for tankers, barges, offshore vessels, terminals and offshore interfaces, with a focus on preventing harm from current operational risks, emerging risks and future threats, while considering human factors, health, wellbeing, safety, security and environmental protection.
